Back Again

Another unused stamp!!
A Woodware stamp purchased some time ago!!

I coloured it with my Zig Pens that were given to me
from Sandy, that had The Craft Barn.
So a big thank you Sandy, they are great to colour with.

We have just returned from holiday number 2!
A week in The Cotswolds
Not as good as holiday number 1 in May,
a week in The Yorkshire Dales.

The highlight was meeting up with the two daughters
of a very old friend. Their Mum, Josie and I had a very close
friendship and she sadly passed away 17 years ago, aged 54 years.
I sat with her through her final hours.

Debbie, the eldest one, drove for 3 hours from her home in
Sussex to her sister, Karen in Wiltshire!!
The next day she drove them, for just under 2 hours up to
meet up with me in The Cotswolds!

We had 5 hours of chatting over a long lunch!!
Some tears about losing their Mum and a lot
of laughter about what we got up to in our younger days!!
It was so lovely to see them.

Josie and I had the same sense of humour.
I was driving us one day, from a craft show in Brighton,
home to the village we lived in West Sussex.
We were laughing so much I had to stop in a lay by,
as I couldn't see the road through the laughter tears!!
I have so many happy memories of our times together.

This photo I took in Bourton-on-the-Water in The Cotswolds.
It was a lovely day and we sat on a bench along side this river.

Then we could not believe our eyes. The whole area
was taken over by Chinese groups of Tourists.
I know we were tourists, but there was only 2 of us.
There were hundreds of the Chinese and that is not an exaggeration!!
They just took over the village so we left.

I hope to get back to posting a bit more often.

I have been catching up with your blogs over the last few days.
So thank you for the messages on my last post.
I had scheduled it so it appeared that we were at home!

Hope I haven't bored you with this post.
I will return comments to those that I receive
 on my blog.
I do so love reading them and they certainly give me a lift!

Big hugs,
Carol

What a lovely time you must have had with Josie's daughters, reminiscing and sharing tales of when you were together in your younger days. Time certainly flies by and good memories somehow make life all the better. The Cotswolds is somewhere that we have only ever passed through and never visted although it is relatively close xx

A super card Carol, lovely colours. We are not far from the Cotswolds, it can be a bit of a magnet for tourists but I can't say I have seen that many Chinese ones there! It sounds like you had a lovely time meeting up with your friends daughters.

Sorry Carol, biy behind with your blog. Love the card below, the SB flower girls are gorgeous and I don’t use my embossing folders enough. I wonder why this hol wasn’t as good as the last? I remember a coachload of Chinese arriving as we were leaving Bourtton and they all took pics of the sign. This is such a pretty card, glad you are finally using some of the stamps that are neglected

Oh Carol, what a fun post - visiting with your friend and having those wonderful laughs! That's the best! It sounds like Cotswolds was a terrific tourist spot for many! I LOVE your pretty and colorful birthday card - so cheerful! I am a firm believer in using stamps that haven't been inked :) Hugs! xx

A fab birthday card Carol. I too am trying to use up some of my unused stamps, we must all have them. It sounds as though you had a lovely friend in Josie so it must have been great for you to have a catch up with her daughters, but also in a way a little sad too x

I've so much catching up to do Carol, I've been a terrible blogger of late.
We visited Bourton when Jess worked in that area, beautiful little place and I recall it was pretty quiet so we must have been lucky! It's wonderful that your friend's Daughters travelled all that way for a catch up, really lovely to still share happy memories of her.
Good luck to you and Lorraine with your selling venture, I'm doing a little craft fair next month, my first! Thought I'd give it a go although I need to get myself into gear and make some stock or I'll have an empty table!
