My Sister's '0' Birthday

Hi Everyone,

A nice, warm day again. I wish it would rain just a bit, as I am trying to dig my garden and it's getting harder every day!! My knees don't like it!!Lol!

Well Sis, the news is out as to which '0' birthday it is!!Lol! As I was given the choice of either poppies or owls for the card, I decided to send a surprise! I just could not come up with a card design using them both!!

I had to use the Little Claire owls as they are so cute and my sister just loves owls.
The blue background is Faded Jeans Distress Ink, with Smooch Spritz Pearl shimmer sprayed on top. Can't see it in this photo. Also the 'moon' and the punched flowers are sprayed but again not visible.
The surprise was, I had painted the Poppies that my sister had admired. I had painted them for my charity sale, and actually sold them!
The flower heads were Sheena's Fusion stamps. I drew the bud and seed head.
I used my fave Distress Inks, Aged Mahogany and Fired Brick for the flowers. Painted onto a heavy weight Watercolour board.
It is so much nicer to give someone a gift that you have taken the time to make or paint. I know that my sister will get pleasure from my work and I also get pleasure knowing that.

Thank you for stopping by and leaving your comments. I love to read them all. Oh! Happy 70th Birthday Pat!!

Luv,

Carol S. xx

The Little Claire Animal Challenge!

Hi everyone,

This is my sample card for the Little Claire Animal Challenge. Pop over and check it out, as it only started this weekend. You have plenty of time to enter.

I love this Room With a View stamp. It is the detail. There are characters to go behind the window and door. I chose to just keep it a simple easel card this time.
I did stamp extra bunnies and sliced down the side of the tree and pushed a bunny behind the tree with just his head popping out!

The 'Thinking of you' was on a garden plant copper tag, using a Cuttlebug embossing folder. Papers from my stash and Martha Stewart butterflies. All done with Distress Inks.

Below is the super prize you can win! I wouldn't mind winning the stamps myself!Lol! And the flowers are beautiful too!
Good luck to all that enter.

Don't forget to check out the fantastic cards from the DT on the blog. Glad they are not able to enter. Wouldn't know who to choose!Lol!

Thanks for visiting and pop back soon,

Luv,

Little Claire On Create & Craft TV

Hi All,

Did you see Steve this morning on C & C? I said in my last post I hoped that Steve would get the presenter, Leonie and he did!! And what a difference. She showed all the cards and handled them all, with the care that they should get.

It makes such a difference when the presenter knows what she is talking about. There were 'sell outs' again which is great news.

It was funny seeing these cards on the show, as I had forgotten to post them! I had completely forgotten that I had even made a black and white one. I even thought when watching the show, what a nice idea, doing just black and white!Lol!! Ok, I know it's my age!
I must admit, I do like the simplicity of these stamps, yet they are also elegant. A very useful set to have in your stash. Thanks for popping into my pages and please let me know if you like what you see.

Come back soon.

Luv,

Carol S. xx

The Right Time - Take 2!!

Hi everyone again! Gosh,2 posts in one night! I did promise that I would post the other owls in the set, so here they are! The text, moon and stars are also included in the set. It may be a short post as it is 12.37am. These are so cute but I do think they still would be suitable for a fella. I used Distress Inks of course but did Mum's eyes with a white Glaze pen.
My sister liked the baby owl, so hopefully she will like this one also!!

Good night, I am off to bed now. They are replacing all the gas pipes in our road, so the gas is going off tomorrow morning. Not until 9am, unlike Wednesday morning, when it is going off at 7.30 am for the whole day! I hope the sun is shining and warm!!

Hugs,

Room With A View - On TV!

Hi everyone,

Steve is on Create and Craft on this Thursday at 11a.m. with more of the Room With a View stamp sets, a Florist and a Bistro. I just hope he gets a better presenter this time. One that shows all of the cards, not the same ones all the time. One of my cards, the Dog in the Window, ended up with the ribbon undone and the sentiment tag hanging off!! So lets keep our fingers crossed that Steve gets someone like Leonie, who is a crafter and handles samples with respect and presents the demonstrations better. Good Luck Steve!

Well that's my rant over!! There is great detail in the stamps and just so different to anything that is in the market place at the moment. And as you would expect from Little Claire stamps, they stamp beautifully.
You can use the elements with any other stamps you have. The trees would look great with just a stamped verse as a topper. Very useful for men's cards.
I stamped the 'windows' onto acetate and coloured them with OHP pens. The only colour I could get to stay in place without shrinking. The rest of the elements and the internal detail I used, oh you guessed! Distress Inks! I added some Glossy Accents to the clocks in the Bistro and the Florist and onto the name above the door.
Pop over to Little Claires blog later and you will see all the amazing cards from the design team,

Thanks for stopping by.

The Right Time!

Happy Mother's Day to all the Mums out there in blog land. Hope you all had a nice day.

This set of stamps are called 'The Right Time' and are available now on www.littleclaire.co.uk

This cute little owl, flying on an acetate window, is just one of the owl images in this set. You will have to wait until tomorrow to see my card with the other owl images on. If you can't wait, pop over to the Little Claire shop, using my link above.
Also in this set, is the corner branch and leaves above the little owl and a text stamp.

One of my sisters has an '0' birthday this month and she loves owls. I know she looks at my blog, so I will be interested in knowing if she likes our little owls!

The flowers I made using a Woodware punch. The 'pearls' in the centre of the flowers were made using 'dries white glue' and when dry, I dusted them with Cosmic Shimmer mica powder.

Well off to bed for an early night as it is 12.30am. Well it is before 1.30am, my usual time!Lol!

Night night,

Luv,

Carol S. xx
