Wedding Day In The Rain!!

Hi everyone,

What a miserable day again! We were so lucky with the weather on holiday, only one afternoon and evening of rain. It just isn't stopping. I can't believe that a few weeks ago I was getting desperate for it to rain!!

This is a card I made for the wedding of my son-in-laws' sister a few weeks ago.

We had just been having mostly sunny days until the Sunday 12th June, their wedding day. It could not have been worse. It just rained all day.

My Daughter and Grand-daughter were bridesmaids and both looked beautiful. Karen, the Bride, also looked stunning. As they live in the same road as me, I was asked if I could help out in the morning which I did. We were also invited but as I had just lost my sister I could not face it.

The butterfly detail in the corners was done with a stencil. I have had it for more years than I care to remember! However, rather than getting out my light box, I just ran it through my Cuttlebug.

All the shapes are using Nestabilities and the top heart layer was first embossed with an embossing folder first.

As I am sitting here typing away, it has got so dark and raining so heavy, that I have had to put the light on. It is only 10am!! I have to go to Tesco today! Yuk!!

The only tiny weeny bit of Distress Inks is on the one flower layer!! Well I couldn't make a card without it!Lol!! Loads of Star dust Stickles though!

Well I think I will delay going out for a bit. I will give myself a hair cut instead. As my trade is a Hair Stylist, I don't trust hairdressers and so have always cut my own hair. I was taught that you can always cut a bit more off but you cannot stick it back on. I wish all hairdressers were taught this.

Yesterday I cut my friends' daughters' hair, which was very long. I asked her to show me how much she wanted cut off, it was about 5"-6". I said I would start with 2" and if she wanted more off then I can do that. She said after 2" off it was perfect!! I rest my case!

Well enough ranting and the rain has eased off now.

Thank you for visiting and leaving me your lovely comments. It certainly lifts my mood at the moment.

Luv,

Carol S.xx

Hiya,

Thanks for your lovely comment on my blog - I think we are all gutted and feeling a bit hard done by at the moment, but I look forward to keeping in touch with you in future and enjoying all your lovely cards.
