Homage To Lili Of The Valley

Hi everyone, I am already addicted to Lili of the Valley's new range of stamps. They are so different from their usual stamps but a brilliant range. I first ordered just one set, then the following day ordered another 3 sets!

I actually forgot to take a photo of this project from the distance. It is actually a paper mache bag.

I stamped the backing paper all over, with an assortment of the LOTV background stamps, sets 46 and 47. I then used Distress Inks to colour the paper. Glueing it to the bag was fun! I did it in sections to make it easier.

The main image this side is from Set47. It's so useful for background or main image. I just used a light wash of Spun Sugar DI for the rose and edged it with Vintage Photo DI.

This side, the image was again from Set 47. I used Rusty Hinge DI to colour some of the larger items and edged it with Vintage Photo DI

The birdcage is a Mirror Box Die and the butterflies, are a Marianne's Creatables Die. I have also used 2 of the tags from Set 50.

The blue flower this side and the pink one on the other side I made from a strip of white paper coloured with DI, cut finely along one edge and then rolled up tightly, applying glue every few inches. The other flowers are from my collection!

The lace and the ribbon with Mother of Pearl pieces on, are from my vast stash, accumulated over many years.

I would highly recommend these stamps to everyone. Whatever style of stamping you do, you will find these stamps invaluable.

I do not work for Lili Of The Valley, or have any connections to the company, other than being a customer. I just think they are amazing value too. I like stamps that you can use all, or part of the images.

Thanks for visiting and I have had some amazing comments left. I just love reading them.

Have a good weekend. I have 2 very early mornings but hopefully worth the effort.

Hugs,

A Box of Delights!

Hi everyone, It was a miserable, muggy day here in West Sussex. As I am busy at the moment, making stock for my 2 markets this weekend, it didn't really matter.

The Saturday market is one I do every 2 months in a nearby village. As I have regular customers, I have to always have different things. The Sunday one is at a garden centre in Kent. About a 45 minute drive and we have to be there by 08.30 to set up. Husband is helping me with that one. So no lie-in for him! Never mind he is on holiday for 2 weeks.

We hope to be going up to Suffolk, near Beccles, where a friend of ours lives, for a few days. We haven't been to Suffolk. I did go to Norfolk quite a bit but that was years ago, as one of my sisters lived there.

These are a couple of boxes I made last week, which I will take on Sunday. The papers for the first one, were free with a magazine I think. I just tore the edges and added some Tea Dye Distress Ink to the edges.

The birdcage is a Mirror Box Die and I cut a little bird from a piece of paper from the Prima Songbird Collection and stuck him in the cage!

The 2 large pink flowers started life as white rose buds. I took them apart and sprayed them with a Tattered Angels pink mica spray. I then heated them with my heat gun which made the petals open into a rose flower. The other flowers are from my stash and behind them is a piece of tied lace.

The words I found on a sheet in my paper stash. From where they came, I have no idea! The butter fly is a KaiserCraft Background stamp. I made this box before my Lili of The Valley stamps had arrived. My next posting is a project made completely with their new stamps.

This is a little wooden box, that I am afraid the pictures do not show how it really looks. Even my husband commented on it!

The papers are from a Vintage Attic Treasures paper pad from Melissa Frances. A lovely pad of really pretty vintage papers. I made the flower from a strip of paper that I just snipped into and then rolled it around a flower centre. I added some Vintage Photo DI to the edges. The gold around the edges of the box, is Debbi Moore Metal Magic embossing Powder.
The butterfly is a Marianne Creatables die.

Thanks for stopping by and leaving your lovely comments. They are always so kind and a pleasure to read.

A Quickie Boys Card

Hi all, It's a cold, dull morning here. The sun makes you feel so different, to how you do on this horrible gloomy day. And tomorrow we are going to have heavy rain all day. Great.

Last Saturday was the 2 year anniversary of losing my sister. So I could have done with a bit of sun to cheer me up. Where has that 2 years gone?!

Right, that's enough of feeling down. This is a quick card I have made for stock, using a Lili of the Valley stamp from their last release. It is called 'In The Country'. I love him and especially his little dog.

The brown patterned paper is from the Prima Songbird Collection, 6" x 6" paper stack. The blue spot paper, is from a pad I have had for more years than I can remember! It is an Adhesive Mat Stack Prints pad for Die Cutting Systems, made by Provo. The rest is from my stash.

I coloured him with Distress Inks. The sentiment stamp is from LOTV sentiment sheet, Simply Sophisticated. The leaves, words and raffia are from my stash.

Thanks for stopping by and check out LOTV tomorrow, as they are releasing a new range of stamps. Check out their blog for sneaky peeks! Click on the Ideas to Inspire in my sidebar.

A Charity Heroes Day

Hi everyone, Hope you had a great weekend. I managed to get out some plants out in the garden and into some pots. My knee is a bit sore today but not too bad. Was worth a little pain to get the job done!

These are some pictures of my makes, for the event we had at the charity I fund raise for.

It is called 'The Meal Of The Year' and is a competition between all of the care homes in the Charity, Brendoncare. The house I support is Stildon and is just across a main road from where I live now. I have been doing this for over 10 years for them. The money I raise, goes towards the residents entertainment.

The chef at the home, Jason, has to put on a special meal, with the budget head office gives him. The whole day has a theme that HO also gives us. This year it was a red carpet party, supposed to be after an 'awards giving' ceremony, for heroes.

I forgot to take a photo of the invitations I made, as they were made quickly, as they had to get them in the post. They were similar to the menu below.

For the invites, I stamped the Indigo Anemone onto a piece of white card, using Flitter Glu and Silver Mix Mega Flakes and then cut it out. I coloured it with Copics pens. I then attached it to the card blank, in the same position as on the picture below. I only stuck it down on the straight edges and a few foam pads on the central area, leaving a space for a tag to slide under. I stamped the word 'Invitation' again using Indigo Blue Flitter Glu and Flakes, onto a tag shaped card and slid it into the pocket.

The header was Stildon's Heroes, which was the name of the dinner. The theme colours were red, white and blue.

The Manager, Shirley, had  to find among the residents, people that had done something that special. They would then be the 'Heroes', for the day.

It was Shirley's first Meal Of The Year, as she has only been at the home for a few months. I must say she handled it amazingly. It all went very well on the day, Monday last week, was the day.

These are a few of the 33 boxes I made. Each had 3 hand made flowers on! 99 flowers I made. I didn't think that one out well! Never mind, they were done in time, with a couple of nights, getting into bed just after 2am! Also medals for the 'Heroes'.

On the Sunday before the event, I spent the morning doing 7 table arrangements at home. I then went up to the home, where we were all meeting to get the last minute things done.

I spent the first hour, wrapping the truffles that the residents had made. I then put one in each box and tied them with ribbon. The residents have to get involved where possible, is some of the arrangements for the day.

Each home will get awarded points, for various aspects of the day. As it is a competition between the homes, we have to wait until July, before we know where we come in the list of entrants.

We are not particularly worried about position, as everybody said they really enjoyed the day. That is the most important thing to us.

As I have 2 markets in 2 weeks time, I am now busy making stock. As they are 2 days running, I don't have time to make anything in between.

Well back to work!

Thanks for stopping by and hope you like what you see. I love your comments and like looking at other blogs. So if you leave me a comment, I will return the same to you.

Hugs,

Lili Of The Valley Challenge.

Hi everyone, Just a quick post tonight as it is already midnight.

I had been really good since my operation and had been going to bed around 11pm. Over the last couple of weeks it has been getting later and later every night. I was so busy making things for our yearly function, that is held at the charity I support. I found that I was finishing between 1am and 2am every night. (morning really!!)

I will post everything on my next post that I made for the event.

This is a post for the challenge over at LOTV challenge blog. I have only ever entered one challenge before, as I seem never to have the time to do so. I had at least got a card made that qualifies. They have to have a LOTV sentiment stamp used. That's easy for me, as I use them all the time!

This is such a sweet image, that I had already coloured in my topper box.

I cut a heart shape from a doily that I have had for years, at least 20 years!

The flowers I bought a while back from I don't know where! The leaves are punched with a Woodware punch.

Sorry that this is a short post but I am off to bed, before I fall asleep at my desk!

Thank you for taking the time to visit my blog and for leaving your lovely comments. It really lifts my heart to read them.

Big hugs,

Carol S.xx
