Our Scenery

A little watercolour card and we have a similar Lighthouse here in Lowestoft, Suffolk.
Coloured it with Distress Inks and  Watercolour paints.

We have the most amazing skies here in Suffolk.
I think if I painted some of them, you would think I had gone mad!!!
My favourite ones, are big puffy white clouds,
that I feel I could go up a ladder and touch them as they are so low!

Well Easter has now gone and summer is not far away now, thank goodness.

Thank you for your lovely messages on my posts. I am now catching up a
bit more. Just finishing some commissions too.

Have a lovely weekend and stay safe.
Big hugs,
Carol

It's Christmas!!!

I finely finished making my family and friends cards,
all 51 of them, yesterday. I posted half of them on
Wednesday, until I ran out of stamps.

This is one of them, using the stamps (not postage ones!!)
I had with a magazine, that I have a subscription with.

I didn't photo the other cards, as I was just trying to get them done.
My craft room looked like a bomb site and now it's back to
my calming little haven.
Got the Christmas tree up but only the lights on, so tomorrow
I will dress it.

Hope you are all having, or had your booster jab.
Stay safe and keep well.

Thank you all for your lovely messages on my last post.
I love to read them and then I can pop in your posts too.

Big hugs,
Carol

A Big Thank You

Thank you so much for all your  lovely messages
on my last post. You are all so kind.

My sister was due to go home last Monday.
Unfortunately she had a 2nd fall and they
said she would go home on Wednesday last week.
Sadly they were unable to get a Care Package
ready and then it was each day on! and on!
They have promised it will be tomorrow, Tuesday.

My gorgeous Daughter-in-Law, is a long way
from home at the moment too!!

She is working at the Olympics in Japan,
as her role is a Sports Psychologist with
the Ladies Hockey Team. They won
their first game this morning 4 - 1!!

My son sent me a picture of her,  he took
off his TV this morning. Thanks BBC!!

This card is just for stock.  I have to replace
my cards, for another Nursing Home where
I take cards, for staff and residents.

The old map is one I had, which I used for
a holiday in Europe, many years ago.
I will post a bit more on that soon.

The stamps are an old set from LOTV.
I thought it was about time I used them again!
Coloured with Copics and edged the map
with DI  Vintage Photo.

I know a lot of you have had problems with
Storms and too much rain.
I wish we had just a little bit, as I can't
remember when we last saw any rain!!
I am going to have to get the hose out tomorrow.
The plants are looking very sad.
The soil is like concrete!!

The rain clouds just go over us and forget
to drop some here. The sun is really hot
through the window in my Craft Room ,
and I have the blind down at the moment!

I will now stop moaning!!
Thanks for popping in and like on my last post,
your kindness is wonderful.
Big hugs,
Carol

Shocked!!

This Tuesday gone, I got a call that my sister was in
Hospital. The sister that has been a carer to our older
sister, that has Alzheimer's and also a carer to her own
husband, who had a big stroke a few years ago!!

Now she has had a stroke!!
Why is life so unfair?!!!

We are hoping it's not a strong one and I had
a good chat with her today. I am still finding it
difficult to get it into my head.

This card is using another old stamp and papers
floating around in an old box!

I stamped the glass twice and the word 'Cheers' as well.
I then fussy cut them out and painted everything with Distress Inks.

The glass I stuck in place, using 3D foam to shape it.
I then put Glossy Accents all over the glass, the word 'Cheers'
and also on the green handle.
The 'foam' on top of the beer is Pinflair Snow-it.

Yippee!!! I have a Craft Fair in a couple of weeks, so busy
now, sorting all my stock out.
So excited!!

Thank you for popping into my little blog and leaving me
such lovely messages. Love reading them and returning onto your blogs.
Stay safe!!
Big hugs,
Carol

Thinking Of You

Firstly I must thank you for all your lovely messages on
my last post with my Puppy.
Thank you Sylvie (Gibmiss) for naming her Honey.
It suits her very well, as some of her fur is Honey colour.

This was just a quick card, using a big stencil that
has all different circle sizes on it.
Used Distress Inks mixed with Glycerin for the background.

I have had the stamp for years, unused, so have no
idea where I got it from.

Thanks for popping in and please leave a message so I
know you have been.
I will make sure I will leave messages on your blogs too.

Big hugs and stay safe,
Carol

Favourite Christmas Quickies!!

I love blue and white cards for Christmas.
The card background is actually white!!
Why do camera's change colours?!!!

Spot the difference!!!
I love making pretty, yet simple cards.

The Deer are from a die set I bought last Christmas.
I think it was on Amazon.
The trees are a very old stamp and I used
Broken China Distress Ink.

I have posted all my cards and even got my tree and
decs all done!! It certainly gives me a lift.

I really can't wait for the end of this year.
I have had so many sad happenings within my family
and friends. It's just one thing after another.

Thank you for your lovely messages on my last post
and they are all read and appreciated.

Big hugs.

Fold Back

I have finally got to posting on here again!!
I was in 2 minds to close my blog down completely.

I think this lockdown has effected me more than I thought.
I don't feel safe now if I go out but I really want to get out!!

I am sure I am not alone feeling like this.
I also feel I am not making the most of all this
spare time I now have.

Never mind, at least we are keeping well and
hope you all are too.

Any way, here is a fold back card I made a few weeks ago
for my stock box. I have made quite a few and
I am now going to try and make some Christmas cards.

The centre flower I made from paper and a petal die.

Husband just back from doing the food shop and I
have washed every item with an Anti-bacterial spray.
Can't wait for that job to come to an end!!

I have a few items in 'Draft' but wasn't very happy with
some of them. So they will get lost!!

Thank you for your lovely messages on my last post.
I must try harder to get back to commenting too!!

Keep safe and
big hugs,
Carol

Lily and more!!

A lovely Lily Stamp by Sheena Douglas.
I picked it up, unused, at a Cancer Charity Shop, along
with other stamps, back end of last year.

It just got used for the first time, for this CAS card.

It will be great to stamp the petals twice and 3D them.

Stamped onto Watercolour card and painted with
Distress Inks.
A very simple CAS card and quick to make.

I have spent quite a lot of time doing some
major jobs in the garden! Including sawing down
some old shrubs I didn't like and I will replace them with
ones that I like more!
I did keep 2 Honeysuckle climbers I liked and a climbing Rose.
All growing in the same area, up a wall at the end of the garden.

I now have a bit more sawing to do and then decide what plants
I want to make the bed with. I have quite a lot of plants in tubs,
some that will be suitable for the shady area.

Well sitting here, on my computer won't get it done!!

Not a cloud in the sky and already 25 degrees!!
Fortunately, the area I will be working in, is in the
shade for the morning. It gets full sun in early afternoon,
So better get out there quickly!!

Thank you all for the lovely comments on my last post.
Especially the ones who joined in my paper hoarding!!

I will get around to your posts this week.

Stay safe!
Keep well!
Big hugs,
Carol

Roar!!!

Thank you for all the lovely messages on my last post.
Very kind of you, to take the time to drop by..

This is another stamp from Pink Ink Designs.

He is so amazing to colour and I used Distress Inks to colour him.
I also added Glossy Accents to his eye, nose and jewels on his crown.

I had a stamp that I bought at All Pally, many years ago.
It is a sentiment, which I put inside, saying:

'Wishing you a day fit for a king!'

Had to do so, didn't I?!!!

Another sunny day again today.
It certainly makes it more bearable to stay safe.

I had a sort out in my Craft Room,
of all my papers in their storage boxes!!

I have 20 X  12"x12" boxes, 17 X  A4 boxes, 6 X  A6  boxes.
Also 12 X A4 files!!

Also, the 11 X  12" x 12" paper pads, that aren't boxed!!

Dare I say, all the boxes are full too!!

Does that make me a hoarder?!!!Lol!!

Hands up, for you all to tell us how many you have!!Lol!!

I did sort out some papers, that I would not use and have put them
in a bag, for one of the 3  the Nursing Homes I fund raise for.

They have a 24 x 7 hours, Craft Room for the residents to use.

Sadly, this year, they won't get the money they usually have
from the Craft Fayres I do.

I felt better for a bit...….until I had forgotten to include,
the Lily Of The Valley  and Hunkydory books, I have in a drawer!!!

Oh, and the drawers, one for Vellum, another for Acetate and
the one for Shrink Plastic!!!!

They are all full too!!

Enough!! No more secrets!!

Better get on, as I still have one A4 box to go through.

I have even had the strength, to half fill a Charity bag,
with all the very small scraps I had kept!!

I know why I kept them!! I thought I could cut a small butterfly
out of the 3cm X 3cm piece!! Sad!!

Hope you are all staying safe and please be careful, if
you decide you really need to go and visit the big stores,
that open today!!!

Big hugs,
Carol

Pooh Bear Book

Sorry I haven't been around lately but life has
been a bit tough.
I am now finding it difficult to make things,
when I am not sure if we will do any Craft Fairs
before Christmas.

I have had this fabric for a while now.
I also have the same images, on a pale blue fabric,
so I made a book for a new baby boy too.

I put some wadding between a piece of card and
the fabric. Then stretched the fabric and stuck it
onto the piece of card.
Then added a some ribbon and a metal butterfly.
Then glued it to the front of the book.

The teddy bear stamp, is one of my all time favourite bears!!
He is quite big and is still on his wooden block!!

I stamped him onto Langton smooth watercolour card.
I painted him with Distress Inks.

Added some Glossy Accents onto his eyes and nose.

Thank you for stopping by my blog.
I have a few things in draft and will try to post them.

Stay safe and keep well.
Big hugs,
Carol

Happy Birthday Sister

Happy Birthday Sis!!
Had a good chat this morning and hope you enjoyed the
rest of your birthday.

Sadly, this wasn't the only card I had made.
My neighbour's wife passed away yesterday, from
Alzheimer's, which she had for many years.

He was in hospital too, with a dislocated shoulder and
then got the Coronavirus. He came home yesterday.

Their Daughter and I very close friends and it doesn't
feel right, not being able to give her a big hug.
Or going in to see her Dad is ok!

What a horrible time to be living in!!

Sorry this is not an uplifting post but it can only
get better, I hope!!

Stay safe,
Big hugs,
Carol

An Old Frame

I have been having some fun with my airdry clay.
It's quite relaxing, because if you don't like what you have made,
you just squash it in your hand and start again!!

I have had this old wooden frame in my craft room
for ages, along with a few others. They were waiting for
me, to have the time to play with some ideas, to  make them
look a lot better than they did.

I gave it a base coat of Gesso and then a coat of grey paint.
Then came my crackle paint layer.

While that was drying, I made my roses with my Hearty Clay.
It was a first attempt at making the Calla Lily.

There we are, finished at last!!

Just a quick post and there are more sitting in my draft list!!

Have you got an Easter Egg? I haven't had one for years!!

I hope you are all staying home and safe.

My neighbour is in hospital with the Virus but appears
to be getting better. Everything crossed for him and his family.

Big hugs,
Carol

Oldies!!

This is a set of stamps that I have had for at least
12 or 13 years!! There are 2 sets in one pack and
I have 2 packs. I think they are Woodware stamps.
They have all been used......a long time ago!!

They are coloured with Distress Inks.
Looks like the butterfly on the left has lost it's colour! That's
taking photos with the sun streaming in the window!!
Not complaining about the sun, as it does give you a lift!!
Well it does me!! And boy do we need a big bit of a lift!!

Thank you for your lovely messages on my last post.
They give me a lift too.
I cancelled my scan appointment at the hospital, which was
on Good Friday. They said they would have probably cancelled it anyway.
So still doing the drops in my nose twice a day.
Got another 4 weeks of that!!

So stay at home and keep safe in this scary time.

Big hugs,
Carol

Butterfly Tick Tock!!

Hope you are all safe and dry with this dreadful weather
we seem to be having, over the whole of the country.
💧💧💧💧💧💧💧💧💧💧
I think we have been lucky here in Suffolk.
We have just had a small pool of water in one flower bed
in the back garden. Also my Obelisk was leaning a bit,
but all the Honeysuckle growing up it, stopped
it from going right over.

We have our first Craft Fayre this year on
Tuesday 3rd March. So I have been busy
making new items for my stall.

This is one of the items.

I have one of these clocks in my Craftroom.
It was a class I did for The Craft Barn in Surrey.
Mmmmmm!!! A few years ago!!!!😄

The roof is decorated too but the photo is rubbish!!

It does have a back, so you can't see the clock mechanism.
It was just an idea I had for my monthly class,
as they wanted to make a clock. The class was
a full day, as they have to prep the pieces of the box.

I had cut all the pieces (and there are a lot of pieces!!)
but they had to Gesso and
paint them with the colours they wanted.
Then to add the texture using stencils.

Fortunately I had my instructions still, that I had written
up, as I was making the original.

Off to my desk again. as I have another project to get on with.

Thanks for your lovely messages on my last post.
Also for taking the time again, to pop into my
little corner of Suffolk. The messages you leave
  are so appreciated and enjoyed.
I will also visit your blog and leave messages for you too.

Big hugs,
Carol
