Home Sweet Home

Thanks you for all your lovely messages re my being poorly.

It was an awful virus and although I feel much better,
I know it is still with me, even after 17 days!

This is one of a set of 3 houses by Tando.
You are supposed to have 3 hanging together.

After putting the house together, I painted the whole thing
with grey paint and then stamped over it.

I made the window, flowers and toadstool with my clay.
The window was one of Kathryn Sturrock's moulds.
The flowerpot was from my Dollshouse stash.

Another new item to take on Tuesday week, to my first
Craft Fair this year.

Looking forward to meeting up with my
crafting friends.

Thanks for stopping by and you know I treasure
your lovely messages.

Big hugs,
Carol

Beach Time

I can't wait for the real beach time to be here!!
I just hate the cold weather, must be the Maltese in me!!Lol!!

This project I did last year and it sold within minutes of being
on my stall. So I thought I would make one more,
similar but not exactly the same.

They are little boxes that you can make from Tando kits.
I used 2 kits and when I had decorated them all,
I stuck them together.
I covered the joins with driftwood.

This is just a quick beach scene I painted onto watercolour
card. I stuck it on the back of the box and then
made the beach.

This next one is an old Little Claire beach hut stamp.
I made the To Beach sign with Balsa wood and
I painted the sky again on card.

This next one was great fun!
Two of the boxes have like a window in the back piece.

I had this die that is a ship in a bottle. It turned out to be
very near the size of the window.
So I cut it out of card and then stuck it on acetate.
The boat is a separate die.

The clock does work! The surf board I cut from
Balsa wood and coloured it with Copics.
Made the lifebelt from clay and also the little Seahorse.

I won't tell you how long it took to make!!

Thanks for taking the time, to not only visit my
blog but leaving me your lovely messages too.

Big hugs,
Carol

Crafty Ribbons Challenge - Anything Goes

We have returned from our summer break at Crafty Ribbons.
Not that I have been on a holiday!
If you have been away, I hope you had a great time.

We are starting with an 'Anything Goes' theme
for this challenge.

So just for a change from cards, I decided
to do a decorated MDF heart as my DT project.

The fab ribbon I used is

This photo doesn't show it at it's best.
Take it from me, it is absolutely beautiful.
Click on the link above and you can see a better picture.

As always there is a super prize for the winner of the challenge.

So you have complete freedom, as to what you would
like to make.
Just don't forget it must have a ribbon on it!!!

For more inspiration, pop over to the blog and see
my Teamies stunning artwork.

I am looking forward to see your makes and to
leave you a message on you blog too!

It's my birthday tomorrow, so hoping the weather is nice,
so we can have a nice lunch at a pub by the sea!!

Thanks for popping in and it would be even nicer
if you left me a message so I know you have been.
I could then return the compliment.
Messages are like treasure and they make a smile.

Big hugs,

T-Wit T-Woo!!

I have had a rubbish week and glad this week is coming to an end!!
It started off ok but deteriorated as the week went on .

On Wednesday morning we popped out to the shops and on return,
we noticed that the boiler had a blue flashing light on it.
We turned the heating on but nothing worked.

Cut a long story short, or you might fall asleep!!
Two plumbers looked at it but it was too technical for them to do.
Yesterday morning, plumber number 3 told us it was the fan not working.

On his advice, we then got onto Bosch.
They managed to book us in on a cancellation for that day.
Thank goodness, as we only had to get through one cold night
with no heating!
A man came yesterday late morning....job done!!

Also on Wednesday, we were having the Summerhouse roof re-felted.
Should have taken an hour to do BUT!!!!
One side of the roof was fine. The other side, the wood was found to be
rotten on both corners.
When Rich lifted the piece of wood he had a bit of a surprise!
He found a mouse in it's nest along with a dead one!
The live one ran off. (well the dead one couldn't!!)

It ended up taking a lot longer than planned so cost extra! A lot!

Yesterday afternoon I had an appointment with Consultant.
He was very nice but I now have to go for another procedure
in a few weeks. Not looking forward to that one!

He then sent me off to have blood test.
It took 2 goes with the needle to get any out of me!!
Then it was too late to go to a Garden Centre we
had planned to go to.

Well if you are still with me and not bored or asleep,
this little Owl is made from MDF.
I bought a couple of them last year at Ally Pally but wasn't
 sure how to decorate them.
So I had a play and this is the result.

The paper I used was free with a magazine.
The eyes I made with a strip of pearlised card, scored and folded
then made into a circle.
Topped of with google eyes and a ribbon bow below.

I am struggling to keep my eyes open, so off to bed.

Thank you for popping in and I hope you will leave me a message,
to let me know you've been.
Big hugs,
Carolxxxx

Winter Wonderland Challenge

Welcome to our new Snowflakes challenge at Winter Wonderland.

Our theme this week is

Pastel Colours.
You do not have to use a Christmas image yet.

Our Sponsor for this challenge is

and for the winner, their generous prize is
$12 Voucher

I chose to make a bag, using a paper mache blank.
I coloured some white paper using Distress Ink and then randomly
stamped images over it.

The main image stamps are from Lili of the Valley.

Some of the flowers I made myself and others are from my stash.

The fun bit was making it in my new craft room!!
If you have seen those 'Hoarder' programmes on TV, my room
is a bit like that at the moment. I only have a small space on my desk.
The contents of the bedrooms surrounds me.

We had the carpet laid in the lounge and dining room yesterday, Tuesday.
At the same time, we had the decorators painting in the hall and the plumber,
replacing the rusty radiators in both bathrooms, with heated towel rails.
Along with the carpenter replacing the door handles!!
Another quiet day! But well worth it!

As I am writing this, the carpet fitters have arrived
to lay the carpets in the bedrooms and hall.

The painters and carpenter have retreated for a coffee break!
This should be their last day.

The electrician is coming later this afternoon, to finish putting up the lights.
Hopefully that will be the end to the mayhem
and we can then finally unpack everything!

I can't believe that we have only been here for 6 weeks!!

This is the other side. I can't do both sides the same. Too boring!

Hope you will pop over to the Winter Wonderland challenge,
to see the stunning makes from our lovely Snowflake Teamies.

We have a number of new members and all are amazing crafters.

Don't forget you have to be in it to win it!!

Thanks for taking the time to visit, as you know,
I love reading your lovely messages.

Hugs,

Carolxxxx
