The Blues !!

I am pleased to say that my mojo has come back and
hope that it is here to stay!! Yipeeeeee!!

All I needed was a reason/purpose to make things.
Having got the Craft Market bookings, was all I needed.

If they all will be still happening, nobody knows.
However, all the time I think they will, is mentally
important to me.

So here is another MDF heart, made from my heart!!
(Cheesy I know)!!

I had a lovely walk with a friend last Tuesday, through the
local Marshes.
We walked for just over 4 miles, with a coffee and a Sandwich
half way round! The weather was perfect and just warm enough
to enjoy it and not many people on the same route.

It's a shame that we cannot have the freedom, we have been
given the last few weeks.

It has been spoilt, by the people not conforming to the
safety measures that were important to us all.

I saw 3 girls being interviewed on the TV, at a party.
They were asked why they were not conforming
to the numbers that were allowed at a gathering.

Their reply really shocked me, which was
'We can't be bothered with all that. We want to have fun
and enjoy ourselves!!!'

I still cannot believe, that they have no cares for
their friends and families, getting ill and dying.

Well I have had my rant!! What do you think?

Enjoy the sun and stay safe.

Big hugs,
Carol

Book an Owl!!

This is a book box, using different papers and colours,
right on the outside edge of my normal go to colours!!

On my screen it looks grey but it is actually
black and Denim blue. The papers are from
Anna Marie Designs. I bought both the 6" x 6"
and the 8" x 8" pads.
So the cover is using the 8" and
the little birds I cut them from the 6" pad.

I fussy cut the little birds, even their tiny beaks!
I now know why it got the name 'Fussy cutting'!!
I am not a lover of a white edge. I won't even use dies to
cut detailed images. It's very therapeutic too.

It's another sad day today, as I have lost another friend.
She was in her 90's and had been very poorly with
a nasty Cancer.
She had been a friend for about 29 years and loved her to bits!!

That is 3 friends I have lost within 10 days.

When is this going to stop?!!!

Hope you are all staying safe and well.

Big hugs,
Carol

It's A Bag

Hi, all my lovely followers and thank you for the lovely
messages on my last posting. You are all so kind.

This one will be short and no rambling, to bore you.....to tears😂

This is the last bag I have to do, as Hobbycraft are no longer
selling them.
I still have this one but it is sold.

The background card is so beautiful and looks much nicer in real life.
It may show up better if you click on it to make it bigger.
It is similar on the other side too.

Well thats it from me. I am struggling with my Mojo.
Okay some days and other days not interested.
We are not used to have to look at the same 4 walls, 24/7!!
I always wished I could have one day to be bored!!
Never again!! Just not used to all this free time!!

Stay safe in your home,
big hugs,
Carol

Bits Of Slate......Or Is It?!!!!

I hope you are keeping well and safe, in this
awful time we are having this year.

It's just surreal and can't wait for it to go away!!

I am trying to do different things, now that I have the time to play!!

I do like the look of slate but a bit pricey for what
I would do with it. So I thought I could try to make
something to look like slate. So this is what I made!!

The bigger flowers I made with clay and the small roses are from
Hobbycraft. The cream fillers are from Anna-Marie Designs.

This was the first one I tried to make. The flowers are from Hobbycraft.
They do sell some flowers with tiny beads around the centre
of the flowers. As I have had minute beads, in a few different
colours for years, I would add some myself!!

Well today, I have finished painting a drawer set, which I keep
my distress inks in. I had one side not finished!!
Don't ask me why, as it was bought over 4 years ago!!!
It was my first purchase in Beccles in Suffolk.

Thank you for stopping by and leaving lovely messages.
Just what we need at the moment.
Thank you, to you all that left me kind messages on my last post.

Big hugs,
Keep safe,
Carol

Took 5 Years!!!

Firstly, I must thank you all for your kind messages,
on my last post here and on my Face Book page.

Also to welcome Debbie, a new follower and hope you
like what you see!!

Yes, the title 'Took 5 Years' is correct!!
I started making this wine bottle just over 5 years ago!
I originally covered it with plaster of paris and painted it with
duck egg blue paint. I then added some embellishments

I covered it with Gesso and job done.

The problem was, I didn't like it!
So it sat on my desk for 5 years. I even moved house 4 years ago
and it still sat on my desk!

Until last Saturday!!
I wanted to do something messy, so picked up the bottle and made
a start on it. Stripping off all the embellishments.

I made the flowers with clay and sprayed them with
some bottles of Tattered Angels, a mica and a mix of colours.

I also sprayed the bottle with some of the colours.
I then used on everything, some Cosmic Shimmer Opal Polish and
Metallic Gilding Polish, which I used my fingers to spread it where I
wanted it. Very messy but great fun.

The colours are much nicer in real life and the Mica
is gorgeous.
I am quite pleased with it now!! Lol!!

It's just like the world has been tipped upside down, with
the Coronavirus and to me it feels surreal.
I just wished that I could wake up in the
morning, to find it was just a bad dream!!

At least, here in Suffolk, the sun has been shining for a
couple of days and the spring flowers are so pretty.

Please stay at home if you can and stay safe.
We have cancelled our holiday and I am thinking
of cancelling a scan, that I am booked to have on Good Friday.

Big hugs,
Carol

A New Project.

Thank you for the lovely messages on my last post.
Much appreciated and treasured.

I am at my first of 17 Craft Fayres this Saturday and Sunday.
It's at Cherry Lane Garden Centre in Fritton.

This Butterfly is a lot more purple in Real Life.
Also the main fairy is all over glittered
and her wings are 3D.

Maybe visible if you click on it.

Looking forward to seeing some old faces. Not in age!!Lol!!
The weather is supposed to be good.

Off to bed as it's 1.35am so an early night tonight.

Thanks for popping in. You know I will visit your
blogs as much as I can too.

Big hugs,
Carol

Chalk and Cheese!!!

Thank you for your lovely messages on my last post.
They are all read and treasured.

Sorry the pictures are a bit poor. Dare I say
it is too sunny today, certainly for the first butterfly.

If you click on it, the bigger picture is much clearer.

This first one is colour wise, the normal colour
and design I would make.
I do love the soft effect that pastels create.
So this is my 'Chalk'!!

My 'Cheese' is this one below!!

I do love Poppies and have never used them on a Butterfly.
I can cope with this bright red one, as it is offset
with the white ones too.

The centre Poppy is decoupaged, using 3 layers I cut
from the 12" x 12" page in the paper pad.

Loving this weather!! Just to wake up to see the sun lifts my spirit.

We went to a Birthday party yesterday. It was put on
for a friend of mine, that moved up to Suffolk about 15 years ago.
It was in her daughter's home.
OMG!! It was a fantastic Barn Conversion!  It was stunning.

We were able to sit out in the garden for the whole day, other than
going to collect the gorgeous food, that was in the dining room.

Going to have to get the hose out this evening, as the garden
is looking a bit dry!! The bird bath needs a refill too!!
Got to keep the birds happy!

Hope you are all having a lovely long weekend.
Must make a card for Hubby!! His birthday is on Thursday!!

Thanks for taking the time to pop in and will leave
you a message on your blog too.

Big hugs,
Carol

Princess

 My little Princess hanger.
Another very simple make.

I use Tongue and Groove wood for my hangers now.
They have a wood cutter in Homebase, so I had them
cut to my measurement and straight! (Sorry hubby!!)

When I got home, out came my heavy duty knife
and I cut off the tongues!!! Ouch!!Lol!!
I then glued them into the grooves!!

Then husband drilled the holes. Job done!
Then the fun started!

I made the Princess out of my paper clay and
left her to dry overnight.
I mixed the clay with colours, so I didn't have to
paint all of her.

I made the paper background with Distress Inks
and then glued it onto the wood.
I edged it with my Gold Gilding Wax.....Love the smell of it!!!
I  also put some G Wax on her hair as hi-lights.

I cut the letters with a die and added the paper flowers
 and clay leaves.
The middle rose is actually a dark rose but looks red in photo!

Just a quick post, so you won't get bored!

Thanks for your lovely comments on my last post.
Hope you will leave me a couple on this one.
That way I know you have popped in for a look!!

Big hugs,
Carol

Beach Time

I can't wait for the real beach time to be here!!
I just hate the cold weather, must be the Maltese in me!!Lol!!

This project I did last year and it sold within minutes of being
on my stall. So I thought I would make one more,
similar but not exactly the same.

They are little boxes that you can make from Tando kits.
I used 2 kits and when I had decorated them all,
I stuck them together.
I covered the joins with driftwood.

This is just a quick beach scene I painted onto watercolour
card. I stuck it on the back of the box and then
made the beach.

This next one is an old Little Claire beach hut stamp.
I made the To Beach sign with Balsa wood and
I painted the sky again on card.

This next one was great fun!
Two of the boxes have like a window in the back piece.

I had this die that is a ship in a bottle. It turned out to be
very near the size of the window.
So I cut it out of card and then stuck it on acetate.
The boat is a separate die.

The clock does work! The surf board I cut from
Balsa wood and coloured it with Copics.
Made the lifebelt from clay and also the little Seahorse.

I won't tell you how long it took to make!!

Thanks for taking the time, to not only visit my
blog but leaving me your lovely messages too.

Big hugs,
Carol

Mystical!

Thank you for your lovely comments on my
last post. I am so enjoying myself with the clay!!

So far this is my favourite piece, followed by my Ellie
with balloons.

The Unicorn is a Katy Sue mould.
I first used white clay and when it had dried out
then the fun began!!

It started with Copper H20 paint.
Then black acrylic paint.
Finally, gold gilding wax.
At last I had the grungy look I wanted.
And a 'Gold Finger'!!!

The colours are better seen in RL.

Well a quick post today, as I have been working on my
current project for 2 days and it's still not complete!

Just heared on the radio, that the UK is going to be hit with
a lot of snow, possibly next week.
They are not sure where it will be though! Lol!!

Thanks for taking time out to visit me.
You know I will always comment
on your posts too.
Would be rude not to!!!Lol!!

Big hugs,
Carol

We wish you a Merry Christmas!!

This is a quick post.

I would like to thank
all my lovely blogging friends from around the world,
for taking time in their busy lives,
to visit my blog and to leave me treasured messages.

I wish you all a wonderful Christmas and a
prosperous, healthy, peaceful  2019.

I know this picture is not Christmas related,
it is a 'Home' sign, where lots of us will be for the holiday.

It sold on it's first outing!!

All the flowers are hand made, which I really love doing.
So more rewarding than sticking my bought ones on!

Thank you so much.

Big hugs to you all,
Carol

Silver and Blue

Morning,
and I hope you have changed all your clocks!!
Why is the oven always the hardest to do?!!

Just a quick post, as I must get back
to my desk! More items to make for my Craft Fairs.
There are so many ideas in my head but not sure if I
have the time left to make all of them!!

This is one of my new makes.
I love Silver and pale icy blue, as they blend so well.

The huge bead hanging in the middle, I found in my stash.
One of my lovely friends, saves things for me
that she thinks I can find a use for.
This was one of 5 of them!

So thanks Aileen!! Perfect!!

Enjoy the rest of Sunday.

Thanks for your lovely messages on my last post.
Hope you are going to join us at
Winter Wonderland challenge.

Thanks for popping in and looking
forward to reading your kind comments.

PS: Aileen and her Mother-in-law saw this
post and ordered a wreath the same as this one!!

Big hugs,
Carol

Oval not Square!

Black and white again....I know,
but I made this before the clock!!
My friend saw it half made on my desk and asked me if  I had a
clock made like the box.
So I made her one to take home!!

The flowers are the same Honey Doo stamps and had been
Triple Embossed with Utee.
The butterflies are an old Spellbinders die.

Hope you are not too bored but cards will be back next.
I am remaking old cards not sold into new ones!

Enjoy the rest of your weekend and thanks for
taking the time to leave me a message.
They are the best thing about blogging!
A guaranteed smile maker.

Big hugs,

Carol
