Crafty Ribbons Challenge

A new challenge at Crafty Ribbons.
The theme is
Must Use A Ribbon.

I have used Lace as a ribbon around my box.
This Lace is my favourite and is called Vulcan Viscose Lace - Grey.
You can see it Here and there are other colours too.

Here is a close up of it as it's so beautiful, I love it.
It still pains me to cut it but one just has to sometimes!!

Looking forward to seeing your lovely makes and
visiting your blogs.
I will leave a message so you know I have been.

Good luck and hope you will be the winner of an amazing prize.

Hugs,

1, 2, 3, GO!!!!

Today is the first day of the new challenge at
It's The Snowflakes team this week.

I have cheated a bit, as I have used a precoloured image.

Both the image and the backing paper, are from our generous sponsor,

The Paper Shelter

The theme is 1, 2, 3, which translates to:
1 image, 2 papers and 3 embellishments.

The prize for the winner is $15 Gift Certificate.

The set I used is called For Santa and is available
in a outline Digi too.

The photo is not very good, as it was taken on a dark rainy day.
Is it ever going to stop raining!!

I decoupaged the image, adding Stickles and Glossy Accents to the
baubles and star on the tree. Also Glossy Accents on the glass.

For the snow I used The American Snow Writer and
sprinkled Angel Dust glitter on it.

I found a tool I bought about 20 years ago,
that was when I was doing cross stitch....a lot!!
It was still in it's unopened pack.

You might remember, many years ago they stopped people
taking scissors on planes. So they got around this, by making
this very pretty metal circle that had a blade inside.
You could put it on a leather rope and wear it as a necklace.

They now sell them as a paper distressing tool and are
now made from plastic.
So my brass one is a bit posh!!

I had forgotten that I had it. So it's now out on my desk
and I used it on the edge of the papers.

So now......1,2,3...... GO!!!!
And get your mojo working, for a chance to win a brilliant prize.

Our Snowflakes Teamies have posted their adorable cards
on our blog here.
So pop over for some amazing inspiration.

Good Luck and remember.........Christmas cards only accepted.
I am looking forward to visiting your blogs to see your creations.

Thanks for stopping by and leaving your lovely messages.
I love reading them.

Hugs,

Collectors Box

Morning to everyone and Happy Sunday.

The sun is sort of out here in West Sussex.
Lots of cloud about but better than yesterday.
That's the weather report out of the way!!

We had a holiday 2 summers back, in Suffolk and Norfolk.
We found this amazing shop that sold everything, from a plastic spoon
to wooden items, like this display box.
I bought loads of smaller items too, that I have already sold.

For some reason, the 2 display boxes have sat on a shelf untouched!

Then, last week I had a light bulb moment and
knew what I wanted to do with at least one of them!
And this is what that was!!

An emulsion paint, crackle job first on the outside.
Add a bit of Grunge Paste onto it (bottom right) and a couple
of Paper Clay flourishes.
A Sue Wilson flower die, 2 Marianne Creatables leaves
and a Memory Box Butterfly added.
A touch of Distress Inks and Treasure Brass Gilding Wax.......Job done!!
Well the outside was done!!Lol!!

The inside was more difficult, choosing papers and items.
I wanted to leave space for whoever has it, to put into it what they want to.

I still have the other one to do but I will wait until I see what
comments I get from this one.

I am doing a School Summer Fair next Saturday.
It's in the village where we used to live and is the school
my Grandchildren go to.

It's the first time they have had stalls from people outside of the school.
I just hope they have a nice day for the event.

Thanks for visiting my little corner in Sussex.
A big thank you for the lovely comments you leave me.

Blogland is such a wonderful place to be a part of and I love visiting your blogs.
To be able to leave messages for you too.

It's wonderful to read, the supportive messages on our friends blogs,
that are perhaps going through difficult times.
It's also lovely, to be able to add a little note of support to them.
Don't you think?!!

Big hugs,
Carolxxxx
