As Requested Framed Bears

I had a few requests from you, to see the Cross Stitch
in it's frame.

The frame was a very dark brown wood, with a panel
of gold on the narrow internal edge.
I gave it a coat of white Gesso and then did my crackle
paint effect, with 2 shades of blue acrylic paint and some glue.

There is a lot of detail on the background of the picture,
as they are supposed to be sitting on a bed against a pillow.
So the bits that look like creases, are actually stitches to
give the effect of creases.
My ironing is not that bad!!Lol!!

I cut some board to fit into the frame,
and to attach the fabric to. I ironed the fabric on the back
and then centred it onto the board. I stretched the fabric
on all 4 sides and taped it to the board.

Then put it into the frame.
I screwed in 2 rings into the back of the frame.
I then put 2 runs of wire through the rings.
Job done!!!

It's now on the wall in the spare bedroom.

So there we are, another job done off my list!

Thanks for taking the time to visit my blog and
to leave your lovely messages.

They are all read and appreciated.

Big hugs,
Carol

A Stich In Time and Brilliant News!!

Yippee!! I finished my Cross Stich Teddies!!

I started it in May and finished it yesterday. Not too
bad, as I only did it in the evenings and on a couple of afternoons.

It was quite big, measuring 18" x 9" or 46cm x 23cm.
I always use Even Weave Linen, rather than Aida, as
the end result looks more like a painting on canvas.

So I have a frame to put it in, just need to paint it first.
I always frame pictures myself, as it is so expensive to have
them done in a shop.

This picture is just a close up of the detail.

The next 2 pictures are of the chart, which was a bit of a challenge!!

This was just a third of the chart.

The Garden Centre where I go every year for 3 months
for their Craft Fairs, had decided not to have any events this year.

So I was excited to get an email on Tuesday, saying that  they
are going to have  Craft Markets, between the middle of October
and the end of November.

They are only going to have 10 tables and I have booked 2
tables for each of the weekends.
I am so happy and I now have a reason  to get in my craft room
 and make some things!!

I have dug out my Mojo too!!!

Thank you for your lovely comments on my last post and
for making time to pop in on this post too.
I love reading your lovely, uplifting messages.

Stay safe.
Big hugs
Carol

Bears In A Row

Hi and a big thank you for all my lovely messages,
on my blog and on my Facebook page.
You are all so kind.

What an awful few weeks we have had!!
I certainly will never forget it.

When I lost my Mojo, I happened to find a couple of
Cross stitch kits, I have had for many years!
So obviously I had to pick the biggest one to do!

It's on 28 count linen and measures 18" x 9" and has 39 colours!!
If you don't know what I am talking about,
there are 28 holes in 1 inch of fabric!!

In the kit there was Aida fabric to do it on.
Not being a lover of that, I found some Even Weave Linen
in my stash. It's a much softer fabric than Aida.

Just a few threads!!

It took me a whole evening, getting these threads onto the
holders. Writing the colour code for each one.
On the chart, each colour has a symbol. So on the chart colour list,
I wrote which holder they were on, 1, 2 or 3.
It was worth doing, otherwise I would have to look on
every holder to find the colour I wanted!!

This will be the picture when it's finished!!
When that will be, maybe Christmas!!
It's not just the bears. All of the background is also stitching!!

Once again, thank you for your kind messages.

Hope you are all well and keeping safe.

Thank goodness for being crafters!!!

Big hugs,
Carol

Snow and Advent Calendar.

A very quick post.
Firstly, a big thank you to the 6 lovely people
that left me messages on my last post.

As I explained, my lack of posting is due to the
very busy time for Craft Fairs for me.

I have now completed 23 Fairs and only 5 more to do!!
Most of them have been very busy and I have sold a lot
of my makes. Great for my charity but late nights for me!!

I have now sold 29 of my baubles!! Crazy!!

This Mr & Mrs Snow sold on it's first outing.
I have made another one for my next fairs this weekend.

I did also mention on a post that I was doing a cross stitch
Advent Calendar. I have finished it now and will be
posted to my Grandson shortly.
I haven't used Aida for many years, as
I prefer the finish that linen gives.

I had finished all the cross stitch but I then had to find
time to sew it all together and also attach it to
a piece of card for the backing.

Well back to my desk to finish a little project.

Thank you for visiting and will catch up with you shortly.

Big hugs,
Carol.
