Spot The Cat!!

Spot the cat and not the one at the bottom
corner of the card!!

Just found this card in 'Draft' and now see
why I didn't post it!! Photo was rubbish, as it
was taken on a grey day. So I just went into
my image program and lightened it a bit.

It is a very old stamp and took ages to colour!
I mainly used Copics, with a few Tombows
thrown in!!

I nearly just threw it into the bin, but managed
to finish it!! Phew!!!

Thank you for taking the time, to leave me such lovely
messages on my last two posts.
You are all so kind.

I am a bit excited, because I have been asked if I
would like a table on Saturday 14th March,
at a Craft Fayre in Southwold town.
Omg!! I have so wanted to get into this town!!

Oh, an update on my nose (saga) problem. Went to see a
ENT Consultant at our local hospital last Thursday.
He stuck a camera up my nose! Not nice!!
He thought it could be a number of different things.
Had a blood test as always. If that is ok, I will get a date to
have a Cat Scan. If nothing shows up on that,
I will the have to have an MRI Scan.

Having to do a nasal washout 6 times a day and
waiting for my surgery, to process a script for
nose drops, to be used for 8 weeks!!! Ugh!!

On that note, I am going back to my desk,
as I want to do something that came to me,
just before I got out of bed!!
But I must finish the 3 items on my desk,
that I am still in the
middle of putting them together.

Do you have 'light bulb ' thoughts and
then can't wait to do it?!!

I might have another post, if it works.

Thanks for stopping by my blog. You know I love to
read your lovely messages and then I
can pop over to your blogs too.

Big hugs,
Carol

My Old Stamps

I have at last come out of hibernation!!

I have a problem with my sinus and nobody I know
 has ever heard of it!!

I can smell a chemical smell in my left nostril, on and off,
all day. I've had it for about 6 weeks now and in the beginning,
I thought it was a combination of cleaners I had used on the kitchen floor.
I then thought I had spread it around the house from the soles
of my slippers. So I washed them but I could still smell it.
So I threw out my new slippers.

To cut a long story short, I googled it and found it's called
Phantosmania!!
My body is making the smell and nobody else can smell it!!
It is horrible and is now making my face swollen.
Weird or what!!
I spoke to a Pharmacist in Boots Chemist and she said I should
try to get an appointment with a Doctor.

So I will update when I
see one!!

If you are still with me, I have used a stamp that I have had
for many years and not used for years!!
I used to have an addiction for Sarah Kaye stamps!!

I found the image ready stamped in a box, along with
quite a few more!
I coloured her with Copics pens and the backing
papers were just found in a bits box.

Is it too late to say Happy New Year?!!!

Thank you for stopping by and as always, I love to read you messages.
I will also pop over to your blog and leave you a message too,

So have a great weekend,
Big hugs,
Carol

UPDATE:
I had to go to a different Surgery and
saw a very nice lady. She said it all
looked normal, but as she couldn't
see much, she is going to tell my GP that
I need an MRI scan. So she said to ring
my Surgery on Monday to see if they
have got it in action!
To be continued!!!xx

Elegant

An elegant lady for a lovely lady who is a friend, well into
her nineties.
An old Clarity image and coloured with Copics.

I have caught up with most of my blogger friends this weeks.
I will get to everyone over the weekend.

I have my last Craft Fayre on this coming Tuesday, at
The Cliff Hotel in Gorleston, Norfolk.

Pop in if you are in the area. We are open from 10am to 3pm this
time, as the Hotel has a function that evening.

Thank you for the messages I have had and hope you have
a lovely weekend.

Big hugs,
Carol.

Camping

I know you are very shocked, that I have posted 3 times
within one week!!!

Hope you all had a great weekend, as it was not
so hot. In fact, it was very grey most of both days here.

This is just a quick card for the average male! Lol!!
Rather plain and simple and quite quick to make.
It was a stamp I have had for a very long time and
it comes out when I can't think what to do!

Coloured with Copics, as they are much quicker than
painting with Distress Inks.
I did put a coat of Glossy Accents on the windows
and the lights.

Well this is a quick post!!

I hope you have got over the shock and I even have another
one in 'Draft'!!! If I remember to finish it!!

I can hear pots in the kitchen been moved about!
He can't even cook a boiled egg, so I think
I am just being reminded that it is nearly dinner time!!Lol!!

Thank you for your lovely messages on my last
post. I do so love reading them.
I also enjoy reading your blogs and seeing
the amazing pieces of artwork you have posted.

Big hugs,
Carol

Poppy

Firstly, I must thank you all for the lovely messages you left me
on my last post.
It wasn't an easy thing to do, to step down from WW.
It was a long time on the same team.

I have been busy making cards for the Care Homes.
I just take in 2 whole racks full of new designs and swap them over,
for the ones that are leftovers.

I bought this Stamping Bella stamp called Poppy, at the
Craft Show at Thetford, last February.
This is the first stamping with it!!
I don't usually like faceless images, but I do like their stamps.

I coloured her with Copics.
The background was from a paper pad from Hobbycraft.
I ran it through an embossing folder that was free
with a magazine. I have no idea which one!!

I haven't used embossing folders for ages. I am
determined to use them a bit more.

I grounded her with a touch of grass, a few flicks with a pen!
Very technical...not!!

I took these 2 photos of an area in my garden at the
end of May.
I had just dead headed the Cape Daisy, cutting off 154 dead heads!!

Four days later I cut off 241 dead heads!!!
And it is still in full flower and will be, right through the summer.
That is when we get a summer!!

This was another corner and yes that is another Cape Daisy.
I have 3 of them in the border.
They are a but thuggish, but I just cut them back a bit.
The good thing is that they are evergreen, so less weeding to do!!

Well I am now off to do a bit more dead heading. I find
it quite relaxing and love watching the bees.

Thanks for taking the time to visit my little blog
and I love to read your lovely messages.
Everyone is appreciated.

Big hugs,
Carol

Oldies

Thank you for your lovely messages on my last post.

Hope you joined our challenge at Winter Wonderland.

I have so many rubber stamps, that have
never even seen an ink pad, so I decided
I must make an effort to use some of them.

So, these cards are from an A4 size set of stamps,
from Kay Carley.
She used to come to the Craft Barn where I was a Tutor
and I loved her stamps.
They are all hand drawn by Kay.

They are coloured with Copics.

The background of the first one is made
from shaving foam, mixed with my very old bottles of
Ranger Alcohol Inks.

The butterfly was one of Kay's stamps from the set
and stamped onto the backing paper.
I fussy cut it out, as I don't like white edges around my images.

The papers on the next 2 were free with a magazine.

Three cards of the many I have made over the last few weeks.

The weather is supposed to be getting warmer
this week. Dare I say it's rain we need!!
I am even thinking we might have to get the hose out.
We haven't seen any rain for ages.

Could I put an order in for rain over night
and lovely warm sunshine all day!!Lol!!

Thanks for taking the time for popping in
and than you for your lovely messages.
They are all read and treasured.

Big Hugs
Carol

Winter Wonderland Challenge Fuzzy Wuzzy!!!

Hi everyone, thank you for the lovely messages over the last
few weeks. I am now feeling much better.
Still have a bit of a cough but getting a bit stronger.

It's time again for a new challenge at Winter Wonderland,
Thank you for all the amazing cards you produced
for the last challenge.

The theme for this month has been chosen by our host, Deanne,
is
Fuzzy Wuzzy Christmas!!

It gives you a large choice of the image you want to use.
Like, Fuzzy animals, fluffy hats/mitts, puffy coats,
or fuzzy beards, like Santa's.

Our sponsor this month is

We had the choice of 3 fab images of Christmas Digis,
by Sheepski Designs.

I chose Mindy
for my DT card

For Mindy's fur, I used a fine tip pen and just
scratched it over.
The bauble was coloured with Copics Pens.
We had a black and white cat many years ago.
So I had to colour Mindy like our old cat, Jinny.
Complete with her black beauty spot!!

So if you would like to join in with our challenge,
get those Christmas cards made!!

We will visit your blogs and leave you a message
so you know we have been.

Thanks for taking time out of your days,
to pop in my blog and leave me
such lovely messages.

Big hugs,
Carol

One Stamp

Morning all,
I thought it was about time I posted a card or two that
I have been making and not a Christmas one!!

This is an old favourite stamp from Hobby Art.
Love their stamps and Jenny, the owner,
used to have a table at the Craft Barn weekend
Extravaganza events.

I was demoing at the stall next to her on one of the days.
She is great fun too!!
You can still buy this stamp and is so easy to colour.

I have used Copics this time.

This first one I think has a vintage feel.

This next one is a bit more modern.

We are waiting for a guy to come and finally
connect and supply our Smart Meter reader, up to EDF.

The meters were changed on the 10th November 2017!!
They were unable to connect them on the fitting day,
as they couldn't get a signal on their Mobile phone!!

A few months later, they managed to connect the Electricity,
remotely from their base but cannot do that with the Gas.

We did have 2 other appointments made to do this and
then cancelled at the last minute.

We are just hoping that they turn up today,
just over 7 months later!!!!!!

Update!! They came and we now have it working!!

So there we are, 2 non-Christmas cards!!

Thanks for taking the time to visit.
Would love a message so I know you have been.
They are always treasured.

Big hugs,

Carol,

Girls Gotta Have Fun!!

STOP PRESS:
Changes at the CRAFT BARN

There are big changes at The Craft Barn, as
Sandy and Ian are going to retire.
If you want to treat yourself to some bargains
pop over and see the full details how you can
get them.
HERE is the link for the shop and from
there, the details are on their blog at
and facebook page.

I thought it was about time I posted some of the
cards that are sitting in Draft!!

This was a stamp set that was a freebie from a Magazine.

Great fun to colour and love the sentiment.

I had a rotten cold last week and it's years since
I had last had one!!
Hope it's another few years before the next one!!

In addition to that, for about 5 weeks, I have had a problem
with my left hand. Even though I am 'right handed', I
actually use my left more than my right.
That goes back to being a hairdresser for 55 years!!

OMG!!! Where did those years go!!!!!
I thought I was only 50!! (In my head I am 35!!)

It's mainly my thumb that is very painful. I went to see the
Doctor and he said he thinks I have bruised a tendon in my hand.
It could take up to 8 weeks to mend and if not, I have to
go to a Physio.

I sometimes struggle to get the tops of Copic pens,
without having this problem.
So I make sure hubby is around to take the
tops off for me now!!

Distress Inks I think for now!!

Thanks for popping in and I still love to read
your kind messages.

Big hugs
Carol
