Sitting in the Window!!

A very quick post tonight.

Another Needle Felting project.
Really enjoyed doing this one and stretched my brain, a lot!!

This is my first kitty and took a bit of time, to work
out how much body to do!
I just took out the glass from this Deep Box Frame,
6 inch square, from Hobbycraft.
Just made enough body so she could sit on the frame.
Flowers from Hobbycraft and leaves I made with air dry clay.

Thank you for popping in and hope you have a good
weekend. Thanks for the lovely messages you leave me.
Much appreciated and will visit you too.
Hubby's Birthday on Sunday. Not doing anything special.
Stay safe.
Big hugs,
Carol

Friends Pressie!!

Morning all, as promised this was my friends pressie!
It's for her 70th Birthday, which was yesterday.
She has had this dog for a while now but I haven't
seen him yet.

I made this little dog from a photo of him.
It took me quite a long time, as I had to first make the curly
wool, from my Needle Felting stash.

I had to pull small amounts of the special wool, from my
stash. Then wrap it around a kebab stick, spray it with water
and put it in the airing cupboard to dry!!
I have no idea how many I had to do for each colour!!

While they were drying, I made the body shape, head,
arms, legs and tail from 'Core wool'.

When the wool was taken off the sticks, I had to cut them
into 2cm pieces and then with my needles, stab them onto
the body, legs etc one piece at a time!!

As you can see from the back of his body, they had to be
very close to each one.
The most important for me to do, was to have the right
shades of the colours, in the pattern on his body.

Side view of his head and legs. He does have back legs
but he is sitting on them!!

His collar I made with some beads, findings and wire
from my jewellery stash.
Yes I used to make earings, necklaces and other bits!!

I phoned my friend and she was thrilled with him and couldn't
get over his face, as it was exactly as he looks!!
Also the patterns on his body.

She showed him to her daughter and she was shouting
in the background,
please could I make her one!!! She loved him too!!

So I will not do it straight away, but may start it
sometime next month!!

Just got a few cards for  the second Care Home I supply
with cards for them.
Then I might do a page for my Family Scrapbook.

Thank you for all your lovely messages on my last post.
They are always read and appreciated .

Stay safe.
Big hugs,
Carol

Sister.

This is a lady version of my Doggy family!!
I finished her today.
I did tell her that her brother now lives
in East Grinstead, West Sussex.

She hasn't got a name yet though!

If you can think of a name for her, please
let me know in the comment place.

I now have to get back to making a card for my brother-in-law.
It's his birthday on Saturday.

Our trip to the Doctors Surgery for our 2nd Jabs went well.
As for side effects, only a sore arm for one day and a
good sleep for a few hours when we got home.
Nothing like after the first one.

It just makes me feel safe and looking  forward to
being able to go out.

So I hope when you all have yours done, that you
don't have any problems.

Thank you for your lovely messages on my last post .
Reading  them always brightens my day.
Big Hugs,

What a Mix!!

Morning all. Hope you are enjoying the beautiful
sunshine, like we are having here in Suffolk.

Thank you for your lovely messages on my last post.
I love to read and treasure them.

I have two pictures today, as they are both very
different but finished on the same day!!

My first is a card using a Honey Doo Crafts stamp.
I used Distress Ink mixed with glycerin, to make
the piece of white card pink and lightly mottled.

I stamped the image with Versamark clear ink
and embossed with white Wow Embossing powder.
I then coloured the flowers, using Copics pens.
A bit fiddly using 3 shades and used a
Colourless Blender Copic pen to remove any
ink that went on the white embossing lines.

Now this little fella I just adore!!
I made him, using my Needle Felting
wools and needles I bought from
Frankie and Sidney, details at the bottom
of page.
He is 5" high and 4 1/2" wide
or 12.7cm high and 11.5wide.

It did take a few days to make it and
made it up from just seeing a picture on line.

His back legs were the hardest and took me
2 goes to get them right.

I am now going to make another one.
I just sent a picture of him to a
couple of friends and one, Aileen,
wanted to buy him from me!!

Sandy (X Craft Barn owner) said
'it was probably the cutest thing I
have ever seen!!' Also, her husband
thought he was real!!

So I must make notes of what I did,
before I put him in the post!!
Going to take a few pics of all angles too.

You can find the shop at
www.frankieandsidney.co.uk.

They sell the most beautiful wools etc.
They are free delivery mostly and a
pleasure to deal with.
If you're too scared to just 'go for it'
as I did, with a few animals and want to
have a try, they do sell kits.

Looking forward to seeing your makes.
Stay safe.
Big hugs,
Carol

Round and Round Fairies Go!!!

Thank you for all the lovely comments on my last post.
Much appreciated and enjoyable too!!

The answer to the Which Was Which question was:
The top one with the pink backing card is:
Using the image from  a Lili Of The Valley little book.

The bottom one, was using my stamp on Watercolour card
and I coloured it with watercolour paints.

Sorry!! Lots of pictures!!
So this project is using my Needle Felting and my imagination!!
It's for a little girls bedroom, as a mobile of Fairies.
Rather difficult to photo the whole thing, as it is quite big.
Each Fairy measures 7 1/2 inches or 19cm from top
to bottom and the wings are 5 inches, 13cm wide.

They are attached to the wooden ring using jewellery wire.

They all have different hair styles!
I have to use my hairdressing experience of 58 years,
to make sure they don't all look the same!!
Great fun!!

The little flowers are made from clay.
The butterfly on her hand is a card, die cut one.
They all have a butterfly and clay flowers
 to match their colour.

This Fairy has a single plait.
The hair is just made with the same wool,
as even the animals are!!
Their wings are made from the wool too.
The back of the yellow one is behind the blue ones head!!

This one has a bun at the back of her head!!
OOps!! Forgot to photo it!!!
I made the ringlets with the wool and a cocktail stick.

I had to pretty the top up and also the wooden ring.

To cover up where the wire attachment is, I made a
butterfly with the same wool and colour of their dresses.
I then used my glue gun to attach them to the ring.
They can be seen a bit on the first picture.

I also wanted to pretty up the hanging cord.
So I added a few flowers to the cord.
The bows are to cover up the join.

Are you still with me?!!

Well that is it for today.
Back to my desk.
I have so far, made 130 assorted cards.
I still have another 12 and still have to finish
making the Easter Cards.
I will be taking them, if I get them finished,
to one of the Care Homes I supply, next week.
The money goes to their Charity, other than a few
pennies for my costs.

Hope you all had a lovely  Mother's Day today.

Thank you for stopping by and leaving a lovely
message so I know you have been.
I will visit your  blogs as often as I can.

Stay safe.
Big hugs,
Carol

Little Robin Redbreast!!

I hadn't noticed how many grey feathers there are on a Robin!
Also, they might be called Robin Redbreasts but they are more
orange than red.
In the 15th Century they decided to give animals English names.
So in America they called them Robin Redbreast, because
there was not a colour orange in English, until the 16th Century
when they found oranges.

Thought you might like that bit of History!!

For the size of the birds, they have rather big feet.
My Needle Felted one is standing on a bit of driftwood
from my stash. He is just balanced and not glued.

Another make without the proper eyes!

Thank you for taking your time to visit my blog and
for leaving your lovely, up lifting messages.
They are all read and much appreciated.

Stay safe and well.
Big hugs,
Carol

A Baby Yorkie!!

Thank you for all the lovely messages on my last post.
I just hope my Needle Felting will improve!!

This is another one!! She is lying down and has 4 legs!!
Her head looks too big for her body!!
It is just the angle I took the photo!!
I just so wish I can get my 'eyes' delivered soon!!
For my makes!!

She looks  much better than the bear!!

Hope you are staying home and keep on crafting!!

My mojo comes and goes but then I have to find
something to do outside my craft room.

A special 'Thanks' to Mrs A. for all the time
she spends making 'Word Search Games' for us.

They are great fun.

Keep safe,
Big hugs,
Carol

A Little Bitty Bear!!

Welcome to my new follower, Rachel and hope you
like what you see on my little blog.

I have been keeping myself busy with my new hobby,
Needle Felting. This was my first little bear and I am
still waiting for a delivery of the eyes I have ordered!
So I have just used little brads.

He measures just over 4 inches (11cm) sitting down.

His waistcoat was an after thought. I decided that he needed something.
So I thought I would give it a try and this was the result.
All made straight on the bear, except the bow tie.

I have a few more animals made but not quite ready to show.

Hope you all had a lovely weekend.
When we got up, we were greeted with a garden covered with......
the white stuff.....Snow!!
It was coming down quite heavily but not staying on the patio.
We just had white grass. After a couple of hours, it changed to sleet.
That lasted a while and then changed to rain.
Finally it stopped and then bye bye snow!!

Thank you all for the lovely messages you left me on
my last post. It was so kind and made me quite emotional.

So keep warm and safe.
Big Hugs,
Carol

A New Craft For Me!!!

I have wanted to have a go at Needle Felting for a while.
I started with a mouse and husband said it looked more
like a rat!!!
So I left it for a few days and decided to try making a Hare.
I have a clay one, that was a gift from a friend.
So I used it as an idea.

This was the final result, after a few finishing touches,
along with a few stabbings of a finger!!

It's far from perfect but better than I hoped,
for a first attempt.
I now need a name, male or female for it.
So if you pop in, could you leave a name in your comment!!

I am not completely happy with the ears but
I can see what I need to do next time.

I think this is going to be a new, addictive craft for me!!!
At least it's a 'tidy desk' craft and a clean one too, which is
great for me. I can be a bit messy if I am on a roll!!!

Thank you for finding the time to leave a message on my last post.
I love to read them and they are treasured, especially
in the climate we are going through at the moment.

We think my sister's Alzheimer's is more advanced than we perhaps thought.
It's harder for my Sister, who lives close to the 'Home'.
She has been her rock and her carer for some time.
I just wish I could be there. Not that we could get in the home.

Thanks for popping in and would love your feedback on my Hare.
Don't forget to add a name. Can't wait for them!!
Stay safe.
Big Hugs.
