Beach Time

I can't wait for the real beach time to be here!!
I just hate the cold weather, must be the Maltese in me!!Lol!!

This project I did last year and it sold within minutes of being
on my stall. So I thought I would make one more,
similar but not exactly the same.

They are little boxes that you can make from Tando kits.
I used 2 kits and when I had decorated them all,
I stuck them together.
I covered the joins with driftwood.

This is just a quick beach scene I painted onto watercolour
card. I stuck it on the back of the box and then
made the beach.

This next one is an old Little Claire beach hut stamp.
I made the To Beach sign with Balsa wood and
I painted the sky again on card.

This next one was great fun!
Two of the boxes have like a window in the back piece.

I had this die that is a ship in a bottle. It turned out to be
very near the size of the window.
So I cut it out of card and then stuck it on acetate.
The boat is a separate die.

The clock does work! The surf board I cut from
Balsa wood and coloured it with Copics.
Made the lifebelt from clay and also the little Seahorse.

I won't tell you how long it took to make!!

Thanks for taking the time, to not only visit my
blog but leaving me your lovely messages too.

Big hugs,
Carol

The First Noel!

Another Christmas make for my stall.

Well it was but I sold it last Sunday! Then got an order for one.
So I think I will make 2 this time.
They won't look the same, just similar.

The picture is a bit rubbish. When I took the photo,
the weather was awful.

I actually had the best sales last weekend,
that I have had since we moved up here.
 Well pleased.

I now have a couple of weeks to replenish my stock.

Thanks for stopping by and I really love reading your messages.

Big hugs,

Mirror, Mirror On The Wall!!!

Hi there, it's me here!!
I am never moving house ever again!!
What a nightmare!!
We have had even more problems with the internet, (AOL), as we upgraded to
Windows 10 before we moved. Apparently, AOL was not compatible with it.
They then had an upgrade to download, but it did not work for us.
To cut a very long story short, 3 days and 3 different technicians,
they finally sorted us out! Well nearly......technician number 2, messed up
our main computer so bad, hubby lost all saved emails!
Then I had lost my access to all my blogs!!
Another 4 hours later, all was ok!!

We have been really busy and have got my craft room ready for the carpet to
go down and then all the woodwork to be replaced.
We bought all the shelving and work tops with us.

On Monday morning at 8am, (ugh!!) we have carpenter, decorators and
a plumber starting work here.
They have said it will take around 2 weeks or just over.
On Tuesday, an electrician will also start!
Plenty of tea and biscuits me thinks!!

It should be a bit of fun too, as the carpenter is an Australian,
from the same area as my husband! So we had a lot of Australian
strange words being used, when they came to give us a quote.

This is a mirror I made before we move and has been sitting is draft
for a while.

I painted it with Paper Artsy Chalk Paint I bought from the Craft Barn.
Along with my favourite mask, Honeysuckle, from Imagination Crafts.
Also the diamond shapes that were from Tando .

The die in the background is from Sizzix. The name escapes me and
all my dies are buried in the spare bedroom.

The blue flowers I made but the others were bought from Hobbycraft.

Well that is it for now. I am doing my first craft fair up here on the 1st March.
It's in a hotel on the beach. So I am hoping my room will be ready in
time for me to make some more stock.

Thanks for stopping by and leaving me all the wonderful, supportive messages.
you are such amazing friends.

Biggest hugs,
Carolxxxx

A Trio of Trees.

I bought these MDF trees at Ally Pally from Anna-Marie Designs.

I painted them with Paper Artsy Antartica Chalk Paint from The Craft Barn.
Added some Crackle Glaze and then a coat of
Paper Artsy Snowflake Chalk Paint.

I stuck the trees into the base and there they sat, unfinished
on my desk for a few weeks.
I was waiting for some inspiration as how I
wanted to decorate them.

A friend saw them and asked how much I was selling them for and
was quite upset when I said they were for us!!

She doesn't know yet, but I have made one for her too, as a pressie!

You can't actually see from the photos, but I built up the base
with Plaster Of Paris fabric.
It's a bit like what they use for broken limbs.
It was very messy!!

The Reindeer is a Tando one, also from The Craft Barn.
I added the die cut swirls onto him.

I loved making this, even though it was very messy!!

I hope to have some exciting news next week!
So watch this space!!
Thanks for popping by and leaving me such lovely messages.

Big hugs,

The following day, Saturday, I am doing my last Craft Market here in the South.
Sunday - Sleep.......most of the day!!

For those of you that read my blog, I am sure you know I do
go to bed rather late, between 2am and 3am usually, as I am a night owl!

It is 11.45pm and I am off to bed.........I am knackered!!!!!

So thanks for popping in and let me know you've been.
Then I can pop over to you!

Big Egg!! Not Easter!

Hi, everyone in blogland.

Firstly, I must warn you, there is a pics overload!

As in my title, this is a very big egg.
In fact, it is a real, empty Ostrich egg.

My Daughter and Granddaughter have just been around.
I showed them what I had done to it.

My Daughter said it was the most beautiful thing I had ever made.
I told her it was going on my stall to be sold.
She said that I was not to sell it and it would go perfectly in my bedroom.
So it is now sitting on my dresser in my bedroom.

I have had it for a couple of years and didn't know what to do with it.
My Brother-in-law made the stand for me and it has just sat on a shelf
in my craft room.

I then had a euricka moment on Wednesday and this was the result.

I had great fun doing it.
I first tore up loads of papers into smallish pieces.
Then I glued them all over the egg.
A covering of Gesso and assorted paints.

Using a glue gun, I stuck bits of lace very randomly and flowers, buttons
and also a few clay butterflies I had made.

I also cut some flourish die cuts and glued them on along with
wooden flowers and more butterflies, with sequins on.
At this stage it looked a mess!!

A bit of grunge paste and stamped text.

I love this Butterfly Flourish die from Wild Rose Studio,
which I got from The Craft Barn.
They have loads of their stamps and dies, so check them out here

And then it suddenly looked ok!!

Are you still awake?!!
This was a little out of the box for me but I loved doing it.
I am now onto another project,
that is all gessoed and waiting for my attention.

Watch this space. If it is c..p, I will let you know and hide it somewhere!

Thanks for popping in and I hope you liked my egg.
It's surprisingly heavy, even though it's empty.

Hugs,
Carolxx
