I don't believe this!!

Hi,

I don't believe that I am getting desperate to see it rain!! How sad is that?!! My poor newly sown grass has to be watered every day. Only problem is that we are on metered water and the water butt was emptied weeks ago.
I was hoping to have done my patio, but the ground is so hard, I can't get the grass dug up.
Well I will have to craft instead!
This little Sarah Kay girl is ideal for a summer birthday.
The background was created by stamping a flourish stamp onto white card and embossing with white embossing powder. I then, using dry foam, applied Dusty Concord and Worn Lipstick, Distress Inks.
I stamped the girl with Versafine Smokey Grey and coloured her with Dusty concord and Peeled Paint.
The background was a piece of white card, cut with the Nestie inverted scallop circle and distressed with Peeled Paint.

The circle frame was made with the scalloped Nestie and the inverted scallop and distressed with Dusty Concord and attached with foam pads. The flowers were punched and coloured with Worn Lipstick and Dusty Concord. Naturally I have added just a touch of Stickles.

I hope you like this one! It is OK that we are constantly buying the latest stamps but sometimes it is nice to go back to our old favourites and using different products, we can get a completely different look.

They have promised rain Saturday night. Do I believe them, or do I still get the hose out?! What a dilemma!Ha Ha!! We will see!

He's Arrived!!!

Hi everyone,
Our new Grandson arrived 06.14 on Sunday morning!!
He weighed in at 6lb 14ozs and had a full head of dark hair.
I have always said that a baby looks like a baby but, he definately looks like a boy!
This is the card I made to celebrate his arrival.
The elephant is from Stamposaurus. I just love this stamp, it is so cute!
I used Stormy Sky Distress Ink to colour the elephant and Scattered Straw for his straw bed.
Added a sprinkle of Star dust Stickles on the butterfly and around the edge of the shape.
The footprints and the boat stamps, I have had for more years than I care to remember!!
Looking forward to lots of cuddles. Extra nice, as you can give them back and have no sleepless nights!

More Wood!!

Hi everyone,

New Grandson due today, but no sign of him yet!!

I have not posted for a couple of days as I have been soooo busy. Finally finished painting the bedroom. Also cleared a massive flower bed that cut across half of the width of the garden and sowed the area with grass seed.

In between this I am making cards for Little Claire. So I am still finding time for crafting!

This is another of my wooden projects, a tissue box.

I cut pieces of white card slightly smaller than all the sides and top. I then stamped and embossed some Creative Expressions leaves with white embossing powder. Using Distress Inks and Dry Foam, I applied the inks over the stamped images.
I also stamped some more leaves and cut them out to randomly place on the box.
The leaf branches were pieces of mirror card, which I had applied Alcohol Inks to and then run them through the Cuttlebug in the Leaf Folder. I then cut them out and attached them to the box.
The butterfly stamps are from Graphicus and painted with Distress Inks and a little Star dust Stickles. I can't make anything without Stickles!!
Well back to Christmas!! Just 1 more card to make and then they are in the post tomorrow. Can't wait to post them on my blog, as they are lovely stamps.

Yippee!! Finished with paper!

Hi,
I have finally hung the last piece of wallpaper in our bedroom. Now I just have to paint it, but I don't mind that.

I only have my craft room/office to do but that will have to wait, as I want to make the garden look a bit better before the winter.

This card I made using the grid technique, masking off areas with a postit note and spraying the one left uncovered with Tattered Angels Glimmer mists.

The stamps in the background were my favourite Katzel Kraft trees.

The centre flower is a Kadoodle stamp.
The flowers were coloured with Distress inks and 3D.

The ribbon tag is Nestie tag Trio Set 1.

Well it's 12.48, so I am going to have an early night, so I can get up bright and early tomorrow to get the painting done!

More altered wood!

Hi Everyone,

Here is another piece of altered wood! It was an arrow but now it is a shopping list holder, which hangs on the side of a cupboard in my kitchen. Also bought in The Craft Barn.

The curly bits of wire are to hold a pen that does not have a clip on it. The paper clip came from Morrissons and I used a couple of sticky pads to hold it in place.

The heart shapes are also wood, which I covered with scraps of papers from my 'bits box'. Also found some small wooden hearts, in a box of assorted wooden shapes I have had for years!! They are probably as old as Elvis's song, Wooden Heart! Gosh, that ages me!!

Quickly moving on!!

The paper for the roof, was some I had left over from the dollshouse I made for my Grand-daughter. I cut each tile separately to give a bit more definition.

The leaves were cut with Marianne design creatables. They are so fine, they are a beast to get out of the die. Found the best thing is a fine pin. Well worth the effort though!

I love setting myself projects to do, that only uses scraps. We all have a box or two of scraps we just cannot part with.

Even the string was on an item I bought and had been put in my box of bits!

Well, we only have a week to go to welcome our Grandson into this world. Hopefully my daughter won't go too far over her due date. She only went one day over with our Grand-daughter.

I think she has had enough now, working full time and having a very lively four year old!
I remember it well!!

Well back to Christmas cards now and then to bed, hopefully before 1am for a change.

I have promised to finish the wallpapering tomorrow!!

A bit of altering!!

Hi, On this very windy day! At least the sun is now shining. I got soaked this morning going to The Craft Barn in Lingfield.

Still not finished the wallpapering, as another set of stamps arrived yesterday from Little Claire. Lovely Christmas designs! Will have to wait a bit before they can appear on my blog. So watch this space!

This is my Butterfly House! I bought the wooden base from The Craft Barn and I knew straight away what I wanted to do with it.

I made the front, sides and roof from mount board and I covered it with Basic Grey papers, distressed with Tim Holtz Distress Inks. (Small size wallpapering!! Much more enjoyable!)
The foliage are a set from Crafty Individuals.

I had to add a dash of Stickles with a bit of bling thrown in!

I have altered a few other items in this wooden range and will gradually post them.

Thanks for dropping in.

A Cuttlebug Special!!

Hi All,

It's a cloudy Wednesday morning in Sussex. Dare I say what a change. The hot sunshine is great when you are on holiday but not when you have wallpaper to hang!!

I have to admit I am not a great fan of these Magnolia characters!! I know, all of you that are, will not understand but I just do not get it!!

So this card was even more of a test for me.

The stamp was given to me from a very good friend, she already had this one in her stash! I will not add what my thoughts are on that one!! Hee! Hee!

I stamped her onto watercolour card and coloured her with my favourite distress inks. As she had a candle in her hand, I covered it with a punched flower.

For the frame I used Nesties and the bottom border and background, I used Cuttlebug embossing folders.

I had to of course, add a good dusting of Star Dust Stickles and a few bits of bling!

I love the butterfly dies from Marianne Design Creatables. I stamped the butterfly onto shrink plastic, gave it a light wash with a Sakura Stardust Pen. It then became a perfect size as an embellishment.

Well back to hanging wallpaper. Yuk!
