A Lovely Lady Now With The Angels

It is a very sad day, as we lost a lovely lady to the Angels.

Eileen was the co-ordinater of the Winter Wonder Challenge Blog.
As I said in a previous post, she was in hospital and was
very poorly. We then heard that she had improved.
Unfortunately, on Sunday morning she took a turn
for the worse and sadly passed away.

She was not just a lovely lady and an amazing, very talented lady.
Her cards were truly wonderful pieces of art.
Her colouring skills were truly stunning.

Her humour was wonderful and had some really
funny emails from her. Will certainly miss them.

She will be greatly missed and our prayers and
thoughts are with her family and friends.

RIP Eileen
and I was very lucky to have known you as a friend.

Big hugs,
Carol

Winter Wonderland Challenge 2017

Well we finally got organised and thank you
for your patience.

The Winter Wonderland Challenge will run for 1 month
and The lovely Kath has donated a
surprise prize for the winner.

No Christmas card needed this time!
Don't forget, you can have up to 3 entries.

The theme is
Spring Fever
Flowers, Sunshine or/and Romance

As you can see I opted for the flowers. To colour,
I used my Marvy Le Plumme watercolour pens.

I found the paper with spring words on, in my stash!
Goodness knows where they came from.

The photos were taken on the day it snowed, so the light was rubbish!

Thank you so much for your support in keeping this brilliant
Winter Wonderland Challenge Blog going.

My fellow Teamies are such lovely people.
We have all just got together
and sorted it out how we were going to do this.

I am looking forward to popping over to your
blogs and to see your gorgeous entries.
We will leave a message to let you know we have been.

So I am Shouting out 'Thank you' to everyone
who supports us!!

Big hugs,

Carol

Hats Off!!

A bit late but Happy New Year.

I really must thank you for all your lovely messages
you left on my Dollhouse post.
I was quite moved by your comments.

I have now decided to make a few things to take to my Craft Fairs.
As someone pointed out, that there a lot of people with houses
and not many places that you can see and buy pieces for them.

So I started with sets of hat, parasol and hat box.

The 50p coin is just so you can see the size.
Everything is made to 12th scale.
Hubby thought the hat boxes were too big, until
I put a hat in one. He has no idea of the real life size of them.
They can be huge, depending on the hat.

The two boxes tied with cord are boxes of Greetings Cards.
They are folded as a RL card and I have made envelopes for
them that they fit into.

I have bought some Fimo to make other things like food
 bowls and ornaments.
I have also started to knit a full layette for a baby girl.
I have done the dress, just got to sew it together
and to add the tiny button.

The knitting needles are 2mm thick and the thread
is like strong sewing cotton thickness.
It's a bit fiddly doing the lace pattern around the bottom
of the dress and coat. The hat is even harder,
as the lace pattern is around the brim.
As for the pants and booties!!!

They are to fit a 1 1/2" - 2" baby doll.
I hope to finish the set by the end of next week.
I am only doing it in the evenings,
watching TV for a couple of hours.

News Update on Winter Wonderland Challenge.
Unfortunately the lady who is the Co-ordinator
is in Hospital at the moment.

We are trying to arrange with the Sponsor
of the last challenge, to get the winning prize to the winner.

We are also getting another challenge put together
 for next week.
So please pop into the Winter Wonderland
blog and join in the fun next week.

I will post a note here when it is ready.
Thank you for your patience.

Have a lovely weekend and thanks for stopping by.

I love reading your messages
and only if you let me know you have been,
I will pop into your blog and message you too.

Big hugs,
Carol

Blue Lady

Just found this in 'Draft' and thought I should perhaps
clear some of the 31 'Drafts' I have!!

I just made this for my stock, as it is ideal for the residential
home I supply cards for.
It is one of the charity care homes I support.

They were so pleased with the money I passed them
just before Christmas.
I was even asked if I was sure!!

It is such a lovely, friendly home. The staff are amazing.
A few weeks ago they were in the local paper,
as they had been awarded
recognition for the quality of care the staff give the residents.

I hope that this year I can get even more for them!

Hope you all had a great start to 2017.

Thanks for popping in and leaving you lovely messages.
They are greatly appreciated.

Hugs,
Carol
