In The Pink With Puss!

Hi All,

I will make this a short post as  I still cannot sit for too long. I am getting very bored with this now!

I love this stamp from Lili Of The Valley. She is so cute and I love the cat's face too. I made it into a stepper card for a change. I had coloured the image a few weeks ago, but have spent the last 2 days putting it together. Sitting down for 20 minutes at a time.

I used Distress Inks to colour the image with. I like Copics but love my distress Inks. I have used them for many years and have not really found anything I prefer.

The white flowers I made from a circle of paper with the centre cut out. I then snipped a fringe around the outside edge and then rolled the paper up and glued the ends together. I then touched the ends with Walnut Stain DI and added a tiny rosebud to the centre.

The grey flower is a Mirror Box Die flower, with a small flower bead in the middle. The butterflies are a Martha Stewart punch.

The sentiments stamps are from Lili Of The Valley. They were one of the things I got with my voucher I won. They are great, as you can put a few of them together to make a long sentiment for inside a card. Also they are clear stamps which makes them even easier to use this way.

Well I can't sit for any longer. So I would like to wish you all a very Happy Easter. Enjoy the few days off. Don't forget to change the clocks on Sunday.

Thank you for stopping by and for leaving your lovely comments. I can't tell you how much they have helped me over the last few weeks.

Hugs,

A Big Thank You!

Hi Everyone,

I must first say a big THANK YOU to all the wonderful people out there in blogland, for all their lovely messages regarding my operation. You are all so kind and they have certainly lifted my spirit. There were even messages for me on Lili of The Valley's blog!!

Just as an update, my friend Sue took me to my doctors surgery, to have the staples out on Monday. I went in to the nurses room and she asked me for the staple removal tool. I told her I had no idea what she was talking about. Apparently the hospital should have given it to me on discharge.

I had to go back home and ring the hospital. They apologised and said I had to go straight down there and they would remove them. I was lucky that my friend had free time, as it is a 30 minute drive there.  The senior ward nurse was not happy with the discharge nurse, as I told her about the other missing items. No dressings, no sharps box for the needles from the injections I had to give myself every day. Medication for 2 days only, so I had to get an emergency prescription from my doctor. I should have had enough for a week.

Any way, I finally had the 26 staples removed! Boy did that hurt!

Another of my friends took me out for the day yesterday. We went to 2 craft shops and in between, we stopped for lunch in a pub, which she treated me to. The sun was shining and was quite pleasant.

This Woodware fuchsia stamp was one that I bought while we were out. She loves fuchsias, so I made my first card for 3 weeks for her.

I used a mixture of pens to colour it with but mainly Copics.

I will have to get my husband to post it, as the nearest letterbox is a bit far for me to walk yet.

Thanks for stopping by and thanks again for your kindness.

Big hugs,

I Am Back, Sort Of!!

Hi Everyone,

I must just thank you for all your kind messages. It is truly lifting to read them. I even had a tear one day reading them.

I can't sit at the computer for long at the moment and haven't even tried to sit at my desk. Well it is only a week today. My problem is I want to run before I can walk! I can't even do that without crutches!

Rick my husband has been amazing. Helping me shower, even drying my feet. Cooking our meals under instruction. All have turned out fine so far. He has just gone to Sainsburys to do the shopping, so that could take a while.

Valerie, you left a message with a question about using the MBossabilities in a Joy machine. Well, the sandwich I came up with that worked was:

Joy white base plate
Mboss folder with card inside
An A4 piece of card folded in half
A Cuttlebug B plate on the top

A strange mixture I know, but it worked. I couldn't find a sandwich using the Joy plates. Although I must admit that I didn't try for too long! As I will have more time over the next few weeks, I will try to come up with a Joy plate sandwich. If I do I will post the details, so please pop back.

Once again, thank you all for your kindness.

Big Hugs,

Off For A Few Days Rest!

Evening All,

This is my last post for a bit. I am finally going into hospital at 07.15am tomorrow. I am going to have a few days of doing very little. I am taking some craft magazines, a book and a sketch pad and pencils.

I hope to get a bit of sketching done for rubber stamps. Can't tell you any more but watch this space!

I am hoping that after this op I will become a Bionic Woman!! I will at least set of metal detectors at the airports. Great fun!!

These are the 4 Garden Notebooks I have made for stock to sell at my charity markets.

All the images are coloured with Distress Inks, with a little sprinkle of Star Dust Stickles. The papers are from my stash.

All of the books have inside, a notebook that can be replaced when used up and a pen.

The closure tab is a piece of sticky back Velcro. The book on the left is my husband's favourite.

I would like to thank you all, for the lovely messages that you have sent me, wishing me well. They are much appreciated. I am not looking forward to the next few weeks but I know that by the summer, I will be much better.

As they say, 'No pain, No gain!'

I have organised a little corner in my sitting room, where I can sit for a bit, with my lap tray and do some crafting. I tried to work out if I could sit at my desk, but I have to have my knee higher than my waist, (if I knew where that was!!!) when I sit down. The problem then was, I couldn't get near enough to my desk.

Never mind I will find a way around it!

I would like to wish everybody at Lili Of The Valley, a great weekend for your 9th birthday. I will be sleeping for most of the day, but for the rest of you, tune into Facebook and join in the fun.

I am now off to bed, as I have to be up at 05.45!!Yuk!

Thanks for stopping by and leaving your wonderful messages.

Hugs,

Carol S.xx
